EN: The practice proposed in my first semester of college involved creating a family of postcards based on a social issue that emerged from a national film.The documentaries chosen were "Laerte-se" and "Bixa Travesty" which tell the histories of Laerte and Linn da Quebrada, dealing with their experiences and artistic expressions as a transgender woman and a "travesti".
EN: From this, demographic and theoretical research was conceived, in addition to the search for graphic and conceptual references, resulting in the concept for the postcards. Following the notions established by researcher Judith Butler, we view gender as a repetition of performances that are grouped within recognized gender identities. Thus, we understand that gender comes from a stylized repetition of performances much more than something fixed in time.
